Emerald ash borer protection
The reason most people call. One emamectin benzoate treatment protects an ash for roughly two years. It is preventative — you see no dramatic change, because the change is that the tree does not die.
Trunk Injection · EAB, Iron Chlorosis & Scale
Trunk injection delivers product directly into the tree’s vascular system, where it moves to the canopy on its own. Nothing drifts onto your beds, your pets or the neighbour’s property, and nothing washes off in the next rain.
Applied under a Colorado Dept. of Agriculture licence. Diagnosed before it is quoted.
Free on-site assessment · Written quote · No obligation
It is not a cure-all. These are the four things it does genuinely well.
The reason most people call. One emamectin benzoate treatment protects an ash for roughly two years. It is preventative — you see no dramatic change, because the change is that the tree does not die.
Yellow leaves with green veins, year after year, on maples, oaks and lindens. Injection puts iron where the roots cannot get it from our soil. Results usually show in the canopy within about four to six weeks.
Insects feeding inside the tissue do not care what you spray on the outside. Systemic product moving through the tree reaches them where contact sprays cannot.
Anthracnose and several nutrient problems respond to systemic treatment far better than to anything applied to the surface of the tree.
A short visit, but the diagnosis and the timing around it are what make it work.
Trunk diameter sets the dose — this is regulated, not estimated. The arborist also confirms the tree is healthy enough for the treatment to be worth doing.
Injection depends on the tree actively moving water. Done in the wrong part of the year it simply does not distribute, and that is money gone. Some products also have a fixed window.
Low on the trunk, below the first branches. They are small, they seal over, and they are far less damaging to the tree than the repeated spraying they replace.
Nothing to hose off, nothing to keep children or pets away from, and nothing on your beds. You get told what to expect and roughly when.
Nearly every complaint people have about tree companies comes down to the same thing: something happened that the homeowner never agreed to. These five exist so that cannot happen here.
Priced by trunk diameter, because that is how dosing works. Compared against removal and replacement, protecting a mature ash is almost always the cheaper number — you cannot buy a forty-year canopy back.
Trunk diameter, first and foremost. Multiple trees. Products with a shorter protection interval that need repeating more often. Trees already in decline that need supporting work alongside the injection.
Treating several trees on the same visit — the setup is most of the job. Starting while the tree is still healthy. Staying on a two-year interval rather than letting protection lapse and starting over.
The diagnosis, the measurement, and the written quote. And an honest answer on whether your tree is worth treating, which for a badly declined ash is often no.
Spraying a sixty-foot tree means putting a fine mist into the air above your property and hoping most of it lands on the tree. Injection does not have that problem, because the tree does the distribution.

About two years per treatment with emamectin benzoate, then it needs repeating. It is protection rather than a cure, so it has to stay current for as long as you want to keep the tree. Letting it lapse for several years and restarting is more expensive than staying on the interval, because the tree may pick up damage in the gap.
The ports are small, they seal over, and the damage is far less than the alternative of repeated spraying. Every injection is technically a wound, which is why dose and placement are regulated and why we do not inject trees that do not need it. On a healthy tree the trade is straightforward: small sealed ports versus losing the tree.
That is the main practical reason to inject rather than spray — the product goes inside the tree, so there is no drift and nothing on surfaces. There is no spray cloud, nothing settles on your beds or play equipment, and nothing washes off in the next rain. Every application is made under a Colorado Department of Agriculture licence and we will talk you through the specific product before we do it.
If the canopy is still mostly full, almost certainly not. If it is well past a third gone, usually yes. The honest answer requires looking at the tree. A declined ash can be propped up for a while, but it is money spent delaying a removal rather than saving a tree, and we would rather tell you that than take the work.
One certified arborist behind all of them, and one written quote if you need more than one.
Tree Removal · Tree Trimming & Pruning · Stump Grinding · Pest & Disease Control · Lawn Fertilization & Weed Control
Protection costs a fraction of removal plus replacement, and a replacement tree is twenty years behind the one you already have. The assessment is free and it settles the question either way.
