The Denver metro is a planted forest. Almost nothing standing in a front yard here grew on its own — this was shortgrass prairie. That means the trees in any given neighborhood went in when the houses did, in one wave, and they are all hitting the same problems at the same time.
A 1970s Aurora street is full of mature silver maple and ash making end-of-life decisions. A 2004 Castle Rock street is full of trees young enough that one structural pruning now prevents a removal in fifteen years. Same company, completely different visit.
It was confirmed in Aurora in September 2025, in Denver in July 2025, in Littleton in June 2023, and in Parker in August 2026. It has not been confirmed in every metro community. Where you are decides whether treatment is urgent or simply smart.
Alkaline clay is a metro-wide problem, but how bad it is shifts by drainage and elevation — and watering restrictions, permit rules and applicator requirements are set city by city, not statewide.

Home city, and the one with the biggest ash problem in the state. Emerald ash borer was confirmed here in September 2025, and roughly 110,000 ash trees stand in Aurora with about 90% of them on private property — which means they are the homeowner’s call, not the city’s.
Aurora tree service →The oldest canopy in the metro and the widest range of it — century-old street trees in Park Hill and Washington Park, and twenty-year-old plantings out in Green Valley Ranch. EAB was confirmed in Denver in July 2025.
Denver tree service →Housing that mostly went up between the 1970s and the 1990s, which puts an enormous number of trees into structural maturity within the same decade. Large lots and big canopies make pruning cycles matter more here than almost anywhere.
Centennial tree service →Emerald ash borer reached Douglas County here in August 2026 — the first confirmed find in the county, in a residential front-yard ash. That changes the ash conversation for everyone south of Arapahoe Road.
Parker tree service →A young canopy by metro standards — most of the town went up in the early 2000s. The trees are at the age where structural pruning is cheap and removals are rare. The Town also asks residents to use CDA-certified applicators, which Derek is.
Castle Rock tree service →A master-planned community built from 1981 onward, which means tens of thousands of trees planted within a few years of each other. They mature together, they fail together, and they are almost all on HOA-governed lots.
Highlands Ranch tree service →An older, denser street grid with an unusually high ash count — the city estimates around 20,000. Englewood has also run a cost-share program to help residents treat or remove ash, which is worth checking before you pay full price.
Englewood tree service →Where emerald ash borer first turned up in Arapahoe County, back in June 2023. That is three growing seasons of spread already in the ground, which makes Littleton ash the most time-sensitive in the metro.
Littleton tree service →Large lots, old trees and some of the biggest specimen canopies in the metro. The work here skews toward preservation — cabling, deep-root feeding and careful reduction on trees that would cost a fortune to replace and a lifetime to regrow.
Greenwood Village tree service →One shop, one set of crews, and a truck that has to physically get there and back inside a working day. That is the whole equation, and we would rather say it plainly than pretend we are everywhere.

Because a city only gets a page when there is something true about that city worth writing down. Aurora has 110,000 ash trees and a confirmed emerald ash borer infestation. Castle Rock has a young canopy and a local applicator requirement. Where we have nothing specific to say, we would rather name the place honestly here than publish a page that is just another city name.
Rarely, and only for larger commercial or HOA work where the scope justifies the drive. Ironwood is a one-location company with one set of crews and Monday-to-Friday hours. Stretching past the metro means a property somewhere else gets a worse visit, so we usually say no.
