Leftover stumps aren't just ugly. They create real problems: tripping hazards for kids and guests, nesting habitat for carpenter ants, termites, and other wood-boring pests, and regrowth sprouts that are expensive to manage over time. They also reduce curb appeal and complicate lawn mowing.
Stump grinding is the most efficient, cost-effective way to eliminate a stump completely. Our commercial-grade grinders reduce stumps to wood chips 8–12 inches below grade — enough to replant, reseed, or pave over.
Locate and flag underground utilities before grinding
Grind the stump 8–12 inches below soil surface
Grind any major surface roots in the work area
Spread resulting wood chips to fill the hole (chips make excellent mulch)
Rake and clean the area

Stump grinding (grinding below grade) is what we recommend for most situations. Full stump excavation — pulling the entire root ball — is more disruptive, more expensive, and rarely necessary. If you need to replant in the exact spot, we'll discuss the best option for your situation.
Fast scheduling, commercial-grade equipment, complete cleanup.
