What tree services does Ironwood Earthcare provide?
Ironwood Earthcare provides six services across Aurora and the Denver metro: tree removal, tree trimming and pruning, stump grinding, pest and disease control, trunk injections, and lawn fertilization and weed control. An ISA Certified Arborist diagnoses the property first, and every service is quoted in writing before any work begins.

These are the things people describe on the phone most often and what each one usually turns out to be. It is not a diagnosis — that takes somebody standing under the tree — but it will tell you which page to read next.
“The leaves went yellow but the veins are still green”
Classic iron chlorosis, and it is everywhere in Front Range clay soil. The iron is in the ground; the tree cannot pull it up. Usually corrected with trunk injections, not removal.

Two of the classic emerald ash borer signs, if the tree is an ash. Get it identified before you decide anything — treatment and removal are very different bills.
Pest & Disease Control →“A big limb hangs over the roof and I can hear it in the wind”
Clearance and deadwood pruning, plus a hard look at the union that limb grows out of. A limb that moves independently of the tree is telling you something.
Tree Trimming & Pruning →“There is a crack, a cavity, or mushrooms at the base of the trunk”
Possible structural decay in the part of the tree that holds the rest of it up. This is the one worth having looked at sooner rather than at the end of the season.
Tree Removal →“Popcorn-sized blobs of sap on a pine trunk”
Pitch tubes — the pine pushing resin back out at a boring beetle, usually Ips. Timing matters more than product on this one.

How a quote gets written — and why you will not get one over the phone
Every number Ironwood puts on paper comes from somebody who has stood under the tree, looked at the drop zone and checked what is behind the fence. Here is what that means for you.
Why not over the phone
A price given over the phone is a guess, and guesses get revised upward once the crew is standing in the yard. That revision is the single most common complaint homeowners have about tree companies, and it is entirely avoidable by looking at the tree first.
What is always free
The visit, the diagnosis, the written quote, and a second opinion if you already have a number from somebody else. No deposit, no contract, and nothing to sign while we are standing there.
What moves the price
Access, height, what is underneath, and how much has to be carried by hand. A 40-foot cottonwood in an open front yard and the same tree in a fenced back yard between two houses are not the same job, and an honest quote says so out loud.

Questions about the services themselves
What tree services does Ironwood Earthcare offer?
Six: tree removal, tree trimming and pruning, stump grinding, pest and disease control, trunk injections, and lawn fertilization and weed control. All six are diagnosed by the same ISA Certified Arborist, so a property that needs three of them gets one assessment and one written quote rather than three separate visits.
Do I need to know which service I need before I call?
No, and we would rather you did not guess. Describe what you are seeing — a limb over the roof, leaves that went the wrong color, a stump you want gone — and the arborist works out what it actually is when he gets there.
Can one crew handle more than one service in the same visit?
Usually yes, and it is almost always cheaper than booking them separately. Trimming and stump grinding on the same visit, or a removal with the grind included, means one mobilization instead of two. If the combination is not practical, we tell you why before you approve anything.
Do you give quotes over the phone?
No. Every quote comes from an on-site assessment and arrives in writing. A phone price is a guess, and the guess gets corrected upward once the crew sees the access, the drop zone and what is underneath. Looking first is how the number you approve stays the number you pay.
Do you top trees?
No. Topping violates the ANSI A300 pruning standard and we will not do it, even when a customer asks. Cutting a canopy back to stubs forces weak, fast regrowth off the cut ends, opens the wood to decay, and produces a more hazardous tree within a few years than the one you started with. There is almost always a reduction cut that achieves what topping was meant to.

How quickly can somebody come out?
Call 303-366-3020 and you will be told the next available assessment slot while you are on the phone. If a limb is already down or a tree is leaning on a structure, say so when you call — that work is triaged by risk rather than by the order the calls came in.
